In my 20-minute online keynote, “The Future of Software Engineering in the Age of AI: Building Smarter Systems and Smarter Engineers,” I examined how artificial intelligence is reshaping software engineering practice, education, and professional identity. The talk focused on the evolving collaboration between AI tools and software engineers, emphasizing requirements engineering, design decision-making, and responsible AI integration. I also discussed the skills future engineers must develop to work effectively alongside AI—such as critical thinking, system-level reasoning, and ethical awareness—highlighting the need to align technical innovation with human judgment and engineering discipline.

This engagement highlights my continued involvement in fostering student learning and academic collaboration across institutions.
